Surface Preparation:
Surface
preparation treatments are normally made by three methods:

MECHANICAL ACTIONS |
The first two methods have been stopped due to both the high cost of impact treatments and ecological problems.
The third is under constant development: it is based on blasting operations made through the launch of abrasive granules on the pieces to be treated by rotary turbines (wheels) in special machines, or using compressed air equipment.
Turbine Plants:
You can get the best results using the round steel shot and angular steel grit or the cut - wire, while glass beads and synthetic grit must be excluded since too brittle.

synthetic grits for sandblasting operations at open air or in plants without abrasive recovery system, and for on site sandblasting of big castings and fixtures. |

glass beads for sandblasting of small and weak pieces, of stainless steel or light alloy elements and, generally, anytime you have to clean a piece without changing its profile. In aeronautic industries glass beads are used for special shot peening operations. |
